The purpose the Country Player Development Programme is to support the development of athletes. The player development journey is an evolutionary process, individual specific and shaped by experiences.

The squad of 20 athletes (school years 7 and 8, with age-banded year 6 eligibility) trains four hours every two weeks at Woodlands School in Allestree, Derby, from October to June. Training also includes competitive match play against other counties in our region. see the Athlete Calendar HERE for details.

The fees for the 2024/2025 training year remain at £300.00 – payable in two instalments on 1st September 2024 and 1st January 2025.
We can offer a monthly payment plan on application and financial assistance may be available from Derbyshire County Here to Help form CLICK HERE.
The fee includes all training, including one hour of specialist S&C coaching for each session, a training top, a netball, a pump bag, match socks and a match dress.
Match fees will be charges per athlete per match, depending on location – usually between £5 and £10 per match.

To be eligible to trial players must be nominated by a club coach or school teacher.
For Under 13s school years 6 to 8 (from September 2025) will be eligible. For Under 15s school years 9 – 10 (from September 2025) will be eligible.
